About
HypnoBirthing® is as much a birthing philosophy as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying and stress-free birth. This amazing program teaches you, along with your birthing companion, the art and joy of experiencing birth in a more comfortable manner. You will learn how to call upon your body’s own natural relaxant and thus lessen—or even eliminate—discomfort and the need for medication. When a woman is properly prepared for childbirth and when mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with all animal mothers.
Through self-hypnosis, special breathing, and visualization, HypnoBirthing® teaches you to release prior programming about birth, how to trust your body and work with it, as well as how to free yourself of harmful emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and unyielding muscles. You’ll be fascinated as you view films showing laboring mothers awake, alert and in good humor as they experience the kind of gentle birth that you, too, can know when you are free of the fear that causes pain and tension.
HypnoBirthing® will teach you the art of using your own natural birthing instincts. With HypnoBirthing®, you will not be in a trance or a sleep state. You will be aware and fully in control, but profoundly relaxed. Download the brochure.

My belief in the power of prayer led me to discover the remarkable resource we all have within us - the subconscious mind. For thirty years, I have used both prayer and self-hypnosis to enhance my life with remarkable results. I became a certified hypnotist in 2009.
Personal circumstances led me to an interest in HypnoBirthing®, which culminated in my taking the practitioner's course from Marie Mongan, founder. The concept fit well with my own understanding of hypnotism, and in early 2011 I became a certified HypnoBirthing® practitioner.
I am the ONLY CERTIFIED HypnoBirthing® practitioner in Asheville, NC area.

Small Group HypnoBirthing® Classes, $240
HypnoBirthing® classes run 1 day a week for 5 weeks. Each session is 2.5 hours long and is held at Biltmore Premier Fitness. You will also receive a book and two CDs, all for just $240. You will learn things in this class that will benefit you your whole life!
What to bring:
Your birthing companion (husband, partner, mother, etc.), a pillow and bottle of water.
Optional:
Snacks, a yoga mat, sleeping bag or blanket for comfort on the floor, and an eye mask.

This class was conceived for couples who live too far away to come to all five classes in Asheville. It is not recommended for local couples. Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Includes book, two CDs, and all scripts and handouts from our 5 week course. Please call 828-681-5468 for the location.
NEW! Private Hypnosis Sessions, $75/hr
Need personal attention? Private hypnosis sessions are available for women whose babies are in breech position or who are experiencing fear or anxiety about the birthing process (or anything else).
